With over 16 years of experience teaching piano to students of all ages and skill levels, I am passionate about nurturing each student's unique musical journey. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive, engaging environment where students develop not only proficiency in music, but also develop a lifelong appreciation for the world of music. I believe in a balanced approach that includes music theory, sight-reading, and expressive playing, tailoring lessons to suit individual learning styles and goals. Whether preparing for performances or simply playing for personal enjoyment, my goal is to inspire confidence, creativity, and joy at the piano.
In addition to teaching my 25 piano students, I also enjoy pursuing my love of singing. As a choir director and musical theatre director for JOY Conservatory, I have the pleasure of working with an incredible group of homeschool families each week. I also enjoy singing with the Hillsdale Arts Chorale and am a member of the Fairview Missionary Church Worship Team.
TESTIMONIALS
"Miss Monica,
Thank you for being a great piano teacher. I appreciate all the work that you put into teaching me so that I can be the best piano player possible. You have pushed me and challenged me to play and accomplish songs I doubted that I could play. I admire you as a pianist and singer. You have also made learning the piano fun and interesting. Thank you for all the time that you invest in your students. " ~ S.B.
